Although some people think it’s relatively safe to walk down a sidewalk, it is not that uncommon to hear about an accident that involves driver inattention or another factor, such as driving under the influence. Because so many people walk and ride bicycles in San Francisco, it’s always unfortunate to find out about another pedestrian accident in the city. Unfortunately, these accidents can be deadly. One recent morning, someone reported seeing a body next to the road. It was later learned that the man was the victim of a hit-and-run. After striking a pedestrian with their vehicle, the driver fled from the scene of the accident and has still not been located. Following the accident, part of Middlefield Road, which is a primary thoroughfare in the city, was shut down. The victim, a man that law enforcement believes was between the ages of 25 and 40, lost his life after he was hit by the vehicle. Law enforcement has encouraged people to contact them if they saw the accident, which occurred in Atherton, or have any relevant information. Whether it is a crosswalk accident, sidewalk accident, or any other type of incident that involves a vehicle striking a pedestrian, those who are involved sometimes experience significant difficulty. Not only do some people have to deal with physical injuries, but the various expenses that arise from these accidents can lead to financial difficulty as well.
